How Covid Affected Us

How+Covid+Affected+Us

2 school years ago we went onto spring break and the outbreak of covid started. Then we didn’t go back to school for the rest of that school year. Little did we know that last Friday before spring break would be the last time we would go to school for a whole year. When everyone returned this year they were 2 grade levels higher and for 9th and 10th graders in a whole new school. We had to wear masks for the first half of the school year and for a good portion had to sit outside only for lunch and had to wear our masks outside. They eventually changed that rule and masks are now optional. But how did covid affect us at school and just us in general.

There was a fine line on people that likes the new rules and people that wished the other rules were still in place. Either way that you looked at it covid had finally slowed down the spread dramatically with people either getting their shots or have had it before. At the moment the effect of covid isn’t felt as much as it was a few months ago. I think being at home was good for some and being in person was good for others. It really changed how school is done as when we were all remote the teachers could only give out online worksheets but now in school the online is just easier for teachers to just click 2 buttons and boom their students have the work for the day. So it did change how teachers do their job and give us work to do. I asked the simple question how did covid affect you over the last 2 years and this is what I got in response. Porter said “It really made me stressed not being able to see my friends for a while and my grades dropped during the online school.” Tanner said “I didn’t like the online school because my grades were at an all time low.”
